Queimar te queima

In case of fire, call: Fire Department: 193

You may not be aware, but forest fires harm everyone in a very direct way, whether in air quality, lack of energy and water, financial impact, and especially the future of our children.

That’s why we invite you to make a change, together.

Many current world problems are directly caused by the irresponsibility of criminal forest fires, and together, we can change this reality.

The actions we take now can have an immediate effect but, most importantly, ensure the future of our children.

Forest fires are everyone’s problem. You burn, you get burnt!

AMIF represents the productive chain of planted forests in the state of Minas Gerais, which is the largest agricultural sector in the region, covering 2.3 million hectares. This chain brings together steelworks and ferroalloys using charcoal, segments of pulp and paper, panels, boards, laminated floors, natural wood, treated wood, reforestation companies, investment funds, among other enterprises.

The organization works to defend the production of wood from sustainably, legally, and renewably planted forests, strengthening the industry in generating wealth for the country. The latest report published by AMIF in 2021 (based on the year 2020) shows that the forestry sector in Minas Gerais creates over 115,000 direct and indirect jobs, benefiting around 615 thousand people through self-funded and incentivized socio-environmental projects. The sector also conserves 1.3 million hectares in the state through Permanent Preservation Areas (APPs), Legal Reserves (RLs), Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs), and programs for the restoration of degraded areas. Conservation results from an economic development coupled with environmental preservation, as planted forests and native forests coexist in mosaics that strengthen the sector’s productivity and the protection of nature itself.

Institutionally, we work alongside government agencies, authorities, universities, institutions, media, consumers, and other important economic, political, environmental, and social sectors.
